Nigerian Dwarf Goats
Nigerian Dwarf Goats are a miniature breed, generally under 22.5 inches to the withers for does (23.5 for bucks). They originated in West Africa and have been cultivated in the United States because of their ability to produce high butter fat milk with much less feed than larger dairy producers. NDGs are mischievous, silly, and lovable. They are heat and cold tolerant, just keep them out of the rain and wind. Goats have a ruminent with a very fast metabolism, so it is important to feed them a balanced diet including species specific mineral supplements and probiotics to keep them healthy.
